su命令取得的權限是有限的，在fedora9中是可以以管理員身份登陸的，而在我使用的fedora17中是只能以用戶身份登陸的。所以在系統目錄作安裝的時候，首先使用sudo -s切換到管理員權限，否則任何操作都無法執行，也可使用su命令。有些命令使用su并不能夠通過。我之前建立交叉編譯系統就遇到過，gedit /root/.bashrc 無法通過，需要使用sudo gedit /root/.bashrc命令。

編譯linux內核還會遇到缺少NCURSES庫，需要安裝相應的庫。
